Here are some of the highlights of Verity's special day (although Mommy did forget to capture them all on camera).
We started off the day with some Play-doh action.
Then Mommy and Verity hung out dancing and making Verity's cake. PopPop and MomMom came by separately and brought Verity some gifts and sang her Happy Birthday.
For dinner we had one of Verity's favorites - corn. Also, by her request, she had yogurt (frozen Gogurt) at every meal. I figured better than candy.
Then we had cake. Verity's not big into cake. She was more interested in dissecting it but hey's it's her birthday - whatever.
Then Grammy and Grandpa called to sing Happy Birthday to Verity. It didn't deter Verity from her analysis.
Here's what the cake looked like when she was done.
Then Verity decided she needed some after-dessert dessert.
Then Aunt Julie and Cousin Shawn brought some presents over for Verity and Shawn even sang Happy Birthday to her.
We finished out the day playing in the tub with the waterslide toy that MomMom gave her.
This is one blessed little girl! Thank you everybody for making her day special! And to everyone who sent her gifts from far and near.
After putting on a pair of shorts over her pants she decided to explore the ins and outs of it.
After Christmas we decided it was time to start getting out the infant stuff and Verity found a comfy seat in the baby's car seat.
Before Dada went back to work we decided to spend a little family time together. We took Verity duckpin bowling (little pins and little balls).
She really enjoyed herself and part of the way through her first game, the people bowling next to us were leaving and gave us this guide they were using that helps little kids get the ball going fast enough and straight down the lane. It helped speed up Verity's game immensely and she had lots of fun using it.
This was her score card. She made it halfway through the second game before she lost interest. We were quite impressed.
Then we took Verity to the mall and let her check out the fishies at the Bass Pro Shop.
Then as we were headed to get some lunch Verity wanted to check out some of the rides. Thankfully she thought they were just as fun without the quarters.
Verity LOVES the wooden puzzles we got her for Christmas. This one is her favorite.
First we started at Grammy and Grandpa's new house which they had been living in less than a week. Verity enjoyed playing with the cat bed for Uncle Drew's kitties and the parts to her new Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.
Then we spent the first part of Christmas morning at home where we opened the presents from Verity's friend Miriam who is living in Japan right now. She really enjoyed the purse that Miriam sent her.
Then we went to PopPop and Grandma Mary's house where she played the piano with cousin Shawn and had birthday cake for Jesus.
After there, we headed to Great Aunt Lynn's house. Mommy doesn't have any pics from there cuz she was taking video throughout the day on the video camera and forgot to get still pictures there. But it was great fun and we ate lots of yummy food and shared tons of wonderful presents.
This is the insert to her booster seat that she strapped to herself. I guess wherever she goes she'd have a place to sit.
Apparently the basket wasn't a good enough place to keep her play fruit. She decided her shirt was a better option.
Ethan even got a chance to come and share in the fun.
Before we moved the jumper into the other room, she would hang on it and watch Sesame Street. Mommy thought this was really funny.
Verity likes it so far. She was jumping on it right out of the box before we could even unfold it. Here is the process of getting it set up with an eager toddler.
Check out that static
Don't let this picture worry you. She's already figured out how to get on the couch and flip over the side into it. Yeah, not so great.
CHEEEEEEEESE! (That's actually what she said)
